You donβt have to be famous to feel the effects of online harm. Every day, people are misrepresented, misunderstood, or even publicly shamed based on what appears in a search result. Iβve lived through it myself β and now I want to help others understand that it is possible to take your online presence back.
My name is Calvin-Lee Hardie, and this blog is part of my personal mission to support people who feel like theyβve lost control of how theyβre seen online. Whether youβre dealing with outdated news articles, unfair comments, or the misuse of your name or image, you have more rights and more power than you may think.
Here are a few practical steps Iβve used β and helped others use β to begin reclaiming their digital space:
– Submit Right to Erasure requests under UK GDPR
– File image takedown notices under copyright law
– Request de-indexing from search engines like Google
– Publish your truth through platforms you control (like a personal blog)
– Document all harm for potential legal use if platforms or publishers ignore you
This is what Iβve done β and it works. Rebuilding your presence takes time, but each step reinforces your right to be represented fairly and to move forward without being haunted by false or harmful content.
